Bellagio, Menaggio, Tremezzina and Varenna, the most beautiful villages of Lake Como open their doors to flavor with SloWeekend

First two weekends of November, the villages of Bellagio, Menaggio, Tremezzina and Varenna open their doors to visitors curious to discover their hidden beauties and traditional flavors.
Beauty, taste, discovery. All this is SloWeekend, an event sponsored by Slow Food conducted in Como, which tells the story of Lake Como among stories, gastronomic traditions, flavors and artisanal practices, preserved by women and men who have built a unique identity and culture over the centuries. The gastronomic tradition of the Lario becomes an experience to be lived with all the senses.
The four enchanting villages of the Center Lake offer a new way to explore the territory, made up of visits to the spectacular beauties of the place but also of meetings and exchanges with farmers, fishermen, winemakers who will be the narrators of their territories and special guides to discover the traditions and local flavors. The program includes thematic tours, local producers' markets, tastings and gastronomic experiences, special menus and visits to villages, villas and spectacular locations on the Lario. In addition, until November 19, menus and special dishes made with Km0 products can be tasted in the restaurants participating in the initiative.
For the first time tourists and locals will be able to choose from a wide range of cultural and gastronomic experiences by moving between the four municipalities of this wonderful area and, for those who want to stay in the area at least one night, it will be possible to book in one of the accommodation facilities affiliated with the initiative. SloWeekend is realized thanks to the collaboration between the Tourist Associations of the Tourist District of the Center of the Lake: the Tremezzina Tourist Association, the Varenna and Perledo Tourist Operators Association, Promobellagio, Promomenaggio. The initiative takes advantage of the participation of some splendid Villas and Gardens in the Center of the Lake: Villa Carlotta, Villa del Balbianello, Museum of the Landscape of Lake Como.

9:30 am: The villas of Tremezzina yesterday and today. Carlotta, Mainona and Balbianello. Visit
at the exhibition The craft of fishing on Lake Como at the Museo del Paesaggio del
Lake Como
3:00 pm: Menaggio Stroll and Taste. Tour of the center with tastings of delicacies
locals. Visit to the local producers' market.

Sunday 06 November
10:00 am: The taste of Varenna. Tour of the center with tastings.
3.00 pm: The flavors of the past in Bellagio. Tour in the hamlets and visit to the Antica
Dairy with tasting of typical cheeses in the company of chef Luigi Gandola

Saturday 12 November
9:30 am: The taste of Varenna. Tour of the center with tastings.
2.00 pm: Villas, mountains and waters. Landscapes and flavors in Tremezzina. Walk to Lenno
with tastings of typical products.

Sunday 13th November
9:00 am: Menaggio fresh water tour: walk in Val Sanagra and return to the center with
the visit to the fisherman Luigi. Local producers market.
Afternoon: Autumn colors in Bellagio. Guided walk with tasting.
