Lorenzo, nuovo campione sul Lario. L’iridato a Como con Corti
18.06.2013
The paradoxical fact is that when they ride together in the center of Como they recognize his friend Claudio Corti more often, also a protagonist in the MotoGP. But the person concerned is not just any one, it is the reigning world champion, Jorge Lorenzo, as well as winner of the first race of 2013 in Qatar. The two are friends and often go around our city, to train, but also in some trendy clubs. While Corti has always been linked to his city, Jorge Lorenzo doesn't live very far away, since he lives in Lugano. And it takes a few minutes to reach the Lario. The Spaniard, who is Valentino Rossi's teammate at Yamaha, therefore often comes to our part of Italy to meet with Corti. The two were also teammates a few months ago, when they got behind the wheel at the Monza Rally Show. The Como rider and Lorenzo were part of the Forward racing Team structure, the same one with which Corti races in the MotoGP. Another curious fact that binds Jorge to the Lario is the navigator Mara Bariani, who was at his side to dictate the times and the notes right in Monza (in the photo). The choice to go to live in Switzerland was also shared by many other sports personalities, for its tranquility and also for the tax benefits, which are never to be underestimated. Before Lorenzo, Formula 1 world champions such as Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso and the multiple rally champion Sebastien Loeb had opted for residency in the Swiss Confederation. Lugano and Como, then, have a common characteristic, that of being places where substantially the "VIPs" are left alone. This is appreciated by those who are always at the center of attention, in the spotlight. It is no coincidence that the dream of a great footballer like Francesco Totti is to take a quiet walk in the center of Rome, which is impossible for him at the moment because he would not be able to walk one meter. In our parts, we know, there is much more discretion; certainly, the characters who go for a walk around the center do not lack some requests for photos and autographs but, in general, they are left alone. Josè Mourinho confirmed this when he was Inter coach. "I love the discretion of the Como people, it is an ideal city for privacy". As is well known, the Lusitanian coach was one of the many sports personalities who chose Lario; if he had come to Milan, even Pep Guardiola - who later went to Bayern - had made it known that he would have wanted a villa on the shores of the lake. And so it happens that, as mentioned, when Corti and Lorenzo go around the city together, people do not recognize the Spanish, and instead encourage the MoroGp from Como. However, an ideal solution for those looking for relaxation and tranquility between one run and another.
